פלברה אחת, שלוש

A new behind the scenes book is just being released about one of the most fabled units in the IDF, the Shayetet 13 naval commandos. The book, Palavra One Three is written anonymously and details some of the many incredible never before heard stories from the unit. Ranging from humorous accounts to the highly dangerous confidential missions carried out by the Shayetet, this is certainly a book I am very much looking forward to reading.

Herev Battalion: 1948-2015

All I can say is that I very much hope the IDF will reconsider its recent decision to disband the Herev Battalion. If the need to integrate was so important, then units such as Netzah Yehuda would not continue to be given such special treatment from the army.

The Druze community in Israel has served valiantly since 1948 and have often paid the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of this country we hold dear. They deserve to have their unique voice and contribution to Israel's security recognized. While many Druzim do in fact want to make a full integration into the IDF, they do not want to see a discontinuation of the Herev legacy. A legacy that is long and proud.
