As the city is increasingly targeted by Russian missiles and artillery, fierce fighting continues on the outskirts where Ukrainian military personnel are seeking to hold off Russian forces.
Meanwhile, in Kharkiv, Ukraine's second largest city, a detachment of Russian paratroopers has reportedly landed and heavy combat in the city center is taking place.
