Lapid Strikes Back

Some heavy words from Israeli Finance Minister Yair Lapid have been directed today at Mohammed Deif, head of Hamas' military wing, after a fiery speech from the Hamas leader threatened that IDF soldiers would meet their deaths in Gaza. Lapid didn't take to it quietly. Quotes from Times of Israel:

“Deif has been hiding underground in Gaza for weeks and that’s where he will stay,” Lapid says, according to media reports. “That’s because he’s a dead man; sooner or later we will find him and assassinate him.”

Meanwhile, heavy fighting continues in the Shuja'iya neighborhood of Gaza, with reports of IDF paratroopers and armored forces battling with Hamas militants in the highly dense urban area.
